NECA’s Universal Monsters x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mash-up gives Leonardo a gloriously macabre new role: Ygor, Dr. Frankenstein’s hunchback assistant. This 7-inch Ultimate figure trades the sewers for the laboratory, with a hunched silhouette, tattered garb and a wonderfully ghoulish new attitude.
The real showpiece is his massive shell. It opens into a fully detailed laboratory that stores his accessories, including a brain in a jar, a skull, shovels, a bone and interchangeable hands. Flame pieces attach to his two katanas to form torches, ready for a midnight visit to the village.
A close look at the sculpt shows off the stitched, weathered detailing that makes this Leonardo feel straight out of a classic monster movie, while the window box presentation makes him a standout on any horror or TMNT shelf.
