It Lives — My Custom Foam & Latex Graboid (and the Mouth Works)

This Graboid isn’t a kit and it isn’t store-bought. I sculpted and built it myself out of foam and latex — and yes, the mouth works.

Then I did what any Tremors fan would do: I put it in front of the camera and shot a stop-motion film with it. Watch it hunt:

From the build — foam, latex, clay, paint, and patience:

Workbench with Graboid tongue mechanisms
On the workbench: the tongue mechanisms on sticks, reference photos out, figuring out how the mouth would work.
Graboid head taking shape, hanging to dry
The head taking shape — foam body, the beak and tongues sculpted and hanging to dry.
Sculpted beak plates and tongues
Beak plates and tongues, sculpted by hand.
Finished glossy Graboid tongue
One of the tongues, finished and glossy.
Graboid mouth propped open with paint tubes
Paint stage — mouth propped open with paint tubes while the inside dried.

Hand-built creature, hand-made movie. That’s the HorrorFigures way.
